Dhaka, Bangladesh: A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) was allegedly beaten to death by some unidentified people at a room of Sher-e-Bangla Hall at Chawkbazar area in the capital early Monday.
The deceased was indemnified as Fahad Mujahid, 21, a 2nd year student of electrical and electronics engineering department of the university.The incident took place at around 3:00am in a room in the 1st floor of the hall.
Later, the BUET students and hall authorities brought the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at around 6:00am.
Dr Masuk Elahi, a teacher of the university said, being informed by students that a body was spotted between the ground floor and 1st floor of the hall, he reached there and found Fahad dead.
“Several injury marks was found in different parts of the body”, he said.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chawkbazar police station Sohrab Hossen Farhad confirmed the death, adding that they are trying to know the details [Daily Sun, 7/10/2019]
Earlier, the BUET student found spreading anti- Indian hate speeches on social media, several times.
